I was diagnosed with asthma on Tuesday and GP started me on beclametasone. I've noticed that each time I take it, my chest immediately tightens and I need to use my blue inhaler.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is it just a side effect that will wear off with time?
The is common with inhalers it can cause bronch spasm's. Sometimes they will stop once your used to the medication but in the mean time if you take your blue inhaler about 10 mins before and then take the brown a the drug will work better as your airway will be more open and it will relax the smooth muscles. Another idea is to get a spacer this makes the particules smaller and less of a problem
Hi piglet,
welcome to the forum, if you have any queries we'll try to help. Try bizkids suggestion, if not see your gp/nurse and explain the prob you may need to change inhalers. Have you looked on the asthma website and looked at the leaflets/pdf's and publications.Theres loads of info there to help you on your way, and help you to understand your condition. you'll soon get to grips with it.
