hey everyone. my life is a little complicated at the moment, so i wont bore you with the details but i would like to ask for your opinion?
I am 22 and have an appointment on the 1st of february with a cardiologist. why?
because i feel pain in my heart plus arrhythmia plus palpitations. And?
I know i am only 22 but my biological father (whom i met for the first time 2 weeks ago mumbled something about having a heart condition but i never got a chance to ask him more about it- long story) So:
I was wandering IF there turns out to be something wrong with my heart, then will they have to change my asthma medication? I am on ventolin and beclometazone steroid inhalers. I am pretty sure the ventolin makes the heart pain worse but my GP said that i was not to worry.
I looked through the old posts on here and although lots of post mentioned heart conditions, none of them mentioned any changes to asthma medication?
I THINK that medications are mostly ok I know salbutamol causes a fast high rate but it is short lived I got told bricynl does this less so if you find problems with salbutamol might be worth trying this but needs to be discussed with the specilist
Hiya
First of all try not to worry it can make things worse.
First thing -how easy is it to talk to biological afther 0 its important to know what his problem is(being adopted and now in contact with birth family i understand issues there)
I have both cardiomyopathy and brugada syndrome but still take all the asthma meds including 5mg salbutamol nebs 4 hrlyand when very poorly i have iv salbutamol but i canonly tolerate it for short periods of time.
As it has been said salbutamol can increase heart rate and if u are already aware it can highlight it more and make palpitations worse but all brochodilators seem to do that from my experience.
I am under the brompton for my heart problems and they have never even mentioned changing meds so i guess there is nothing.
Please feel free to pm me if u want to chat-good luck xx
