Extracardiac shunt

Hi everyne,

Does anyone know anything about an extracardiac shunt? I can find very little on the net. My consultant has mentioned in the letter to GP that this is something he is looking for when i have the V/Q scan next week. I know from the letter an intracardiac shunt is a hole in the heart. (Which i was checked for and don't have). From the little i found on the net, the extracardiac shunt is called this because it is outside the heart (in the vessels between the heart and lungs i think). Any info would be good!!
