Following on from my ""Boy o Boy What a Weekend Thread..

I had a re-assessment with my asthma Nurse this morning. We discussed a number of issues and as a result, I have now been prescribed a Seretide 250 accuhaler. I am to use this for a month and report back. The main aim is to get my peakflow back up to the 500 mark, atm, it's around 300 - 350.

This was especially the case that i will be off to New York in the next three weeks on my honeymoon!

Just thought I would let you guys and gals know.

Does that mean that you're getting married in the space of the next three weeks too? ;)

Hi Steve,

Yep, I'm getting married on 16th June 2007. When's your day?

It was nearly four years ago Meady... LOL!!

Thanks guys!

Opps, nearly four years ago, hehehe.

Yep, the lovely Cathbear and myself will celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary on the 5th July.

Congratulations, Meady - hope you have a great day. In fact, I'm sure you will!

Hello Meady-hope you have a great time in New Yoik,I dont know if you have been before but avoid ""gypsy"" cabs-there are always lots of them but they never ""know"" (intentionally) where they are going .

-enjoy!!

The lovely Cathbear""?!?!

What do you want??

:-P

Pie.

;)

Pie is good, especially if it's apple with vanilla ice cream...

Get your own, I'm busy!

One slice or two?

I'm eating chip butties from my local chip shop right now smothered in tommy sauce, mmmmmmmmmm

I'm eating Moo Cow biscuits with a cuppa. At least I think that's what they're called. They have amusing pics of cows on them.

Moo cow biscuits! that's pukka, where can I get some from???????

I'll have a look....don't know offhand, someone else in the surgery brought them in. They're rather funky.

Well the packet has sadly found its way into the bin, but hunting through anicecupofteaandasitdown.com, it appears they are Elke's Cow Biscuits.

Just twigged, are these malted milk biscuits?!?

They *are*, but not as you know it (Jim). They have amusing pictures of cows on them. For example, the one I just ate had a picture of a vibrating cow, with the caption ""Milkshake"" underneath.

Ah HAH!, I thought as much, hmmmm, must go on a trip to sainsbury's later.....

Just to point out Meady its hard to lose weight eating biscuits. he he

cathbear please don't rub it in if you have no work to do am quite happy to send you my notes from home visits this pm to write up. Why to the kids i see always have complications and aren't straight forward?

Oh don't worry, I have plenty of work ta...I was just thinking of a marvellous idea involving peak flow meter mouthpieces and an adaptation using a straw...

interesting thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oi Cath that sounds dangerously close to the nasal nebuliser adapter TKS and I were working on the other day. You need a wee tiny baby funnel and some gaffer tape or make your own funnel from gaffer tape.

Bex

Oooh, baby funnels. Now where can I lay my hands on those?

Nebulisers aside, I was thinking of using it (akin to my other thread) to demonstrate the principle of PEFRs whilst healthy (normal mouthpiece) and during bronchoconstriction (strawed-up mouthpiece).

Ha HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

Found the moo cow biscuits! munch, munch, munch.....

Where did you get them from?

Being as you're so good at finding things, your next mission (should you choose to accept it) is to find out where I can get minature funnels from, as mentioned below. Now, being as I assume you are in a different part of the country from me, an important specification of the mission is that they must be available from a chain-type store, which is likely to be present and trading in *my* part of the country.

I'll be hunting too....and I don't even know if they exist yet...!! :-D

How mini? and in plastic or metal???

Found this one lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx...

Might be easier to chat on msn if you got it?

Found the moo cow biscuits in sainsbury's this morning, it was murder, full of old duffas

Ooooh, good job - but no cigar, sadly.

Irritatingly, the only ruler I have in surgery measures in cm not inches; the peak flow mouthpieces are 3.2cm diameter, just a little too small for that mini funnel.

I am well impressed...!

Cath I think I can help you with the little baby funnels. There is a lovely shop near me with dizzy parking right outside that has that sort of thing. Will go on a misson tomorrow and sus buy one or 2 for you.

Bex

Wow Bex, thanks, that's really kind - but please don't go to any expense! Ta x
