Quick question

Hi everyone, Could anyone advise me on this..... I've had since this morning a really tight feeling in the top of my chest just below where your collar bones meet which has been getting progressively worse as the day has gone on and its concerning me as to whether its my asthma or not. I'm not wheezy but I'm a little short of breath. I spent the night at my friends who had 3 kittens and I know I'm allergic to cats so as soon as I arrived I had an antihistamine but hadn't brought a reliever inhaler because 'I never need it'! Well i did last night but Didn't arrive home til late this aft which is when i first took inhaler so struggled through the night.

I quite often get a tight chest with my asthma but never as high up in my chest as this.

Anyone experienced this or know if its likely to be my asthma or not?

Thanks

Danni

  • If you are having problems breathing or a tightness that your reliever inhaler isn't helping please get medical help. Either call a doctor or head to your local A&E. If you are struggling to breathe or it is worsening dial 999 and get help.

  • Thanks but I'm not that bad its just uncomfortable more than anything and just wondered if anyone else has experienced tightness at the top of their chest. I'm just not sure if its asthma related or not

  • best thing you can do is to go and see your GP :) don't sit around hoping that something like that will just go away

  • PS Always take your inhaler with you .... everywhere!!

  • I second Kate Moss...as someone who (as an irresponsible ""teenager"") never used to take my inhaler anywhere ""cos I never needed it"" - you never know when you might need it, really honestly, you should always have it to hand - especially if you're staying away from home for any reason.
