Help with other Treatments!!!!

I need advice on any other treatments that are possible. I have severe life thretening asthma and have frequent chest infections and attcks. But when i get a chest infection no antibiotics seem to wor and i am left ith a lovely chest infection. I would be very pleased if anyone could help me. Thanks

There are several different options about but you really need to discuss your concerns with your consultant for the asthma or your G.P.

Drummer girl, in light of recent events could you do me a huge favour and edit the title of your post. As ""Help"" is not very helpful at the moment, you can click on your post and should be able to edit the title just say something like ""help with different treatments"" or remove the help entirely. Sorry to ask you this but the boards have been a little frenzied and I don't want to spend all day ""fire fighting"" again.

Hi,

you may need to get sputum samples to see which bacteria you are growing first, or as most chestinfections are viral, no amount of anti bs will work.

sputum samples can be ordered by gp or asthma nurses, if you have a hospital dr, as that these can be done every time you get a chestinfection to save you getting loads of courses you may not need,
