Since various people are asking questions about benefits etc, thought I would post this useful bit of information. Carers are allowed to study whilst caring for loved ones, but only up to 22 hours a week, so for those of you who can manage without a carer part of the time, I would encourage you to encourage your carer if they so wish to study. It has made the world of difference to my husband, giving him confidence and something of his own, and also it made me slightly jealous and therefore I recently took up an OU Course so I could study at home.
