1. There are three words in the English language that end with the letters g-r-y. Two are ""hungry"" and ""angry."" Everyone knows what the third word means, and everyone uses it every day. What is the third word? Hint g-r-y don't have to be in that order. ENERGY. Thanks ratty.

2. What do these have in common? Winnebago - Tobacco - Chinook - Laguna - Mobile - Mono - Yazoo.

Thanks Gamba for correctly identifying they are all Native American Indian Tribes.

3. A part of a wheel is a SPOKE, another word for people is FOLK, so how do you spell the word for the white of an egg? ALBUMEN Thanks, Nimueh.

4. What do these words have in common? Calmness - Inoperable - Defer - Burst - Laughing - Stupid.

All contain letters in the right alphabetical order. Thanks Mia, like BuRST.

5. What are these common phrases where the initial stands for a word. eg 1 W on a U = One wheel on a Unicycle.

1. 3 BM (SHTR) - 3 Blind Mice (See How They Run). Thanks Ratty.

2. 6 W of H the E - 6 Wives of Henry the Eighth. Thanks Ratty.

3. 8 L on a S - Legs on a Spider. Thanks angievere.

4. 12 D of C - 12 Days of Christmas. Thanks nimueh.

5. 15 M on a DMC - 15 Men on a Dead Man's Chest. Thanks gamba.

6. 18 H on a GC - 18 Holes on a Golf Course. Thanks nimueh.

7. 90 D in a RA - 90 Degrees in a Right Angle. Thanks Ratty.

8. 52 W in a Y. 52 WEEKS in a YEAR. Thanks Geina.

6. What word (in the English language) has six vowels, and every one is 'A'? Hint - dip.

TARAMASALATA. Thanks Geina.

7. What is it?: the people who make it don't want it, the people who buy it don't use it and the people who use it don't know. ps This answer is a bit grim. COFFIN Thanks angievere.

No.5 part 3. 8 Legs on a Spider

5.1 - 3 Blind Mice (See how they run)

5.6 - 18 Humps on a Giant Camel? :D

5.6 18 holes on a golf course

Thanks Ratty, it was seeing your answer that gave me a clue, and a giggle. =D If camels are the ships of the desert would an 18 humped giant camel be a desert cruise liner?

Is 1. a trick question? I could give a VERY literal answer. The third word of ""The English Language"" is ""language"" and we do use that (almost) every day.

Ratty, No.1 is not a trick question and no 'that' is not the answer. Good thinking though and I loved the giant camel idea.

Is 1 lethargy?

Not lethargy. Sorry gamba.

1. Going for real words, I came up with 'energy' and 'orgy' - I'm trying to decide which one is more likely to be used daily...

Ratty - argh, that was on the tip of my tongue!

2- are they native American words?

15 men on a dead men's chest?

Ha ha Ratty. Is it any wonder you get breathless? Energy it is.

Gamba - Yes. Native American tribes and 15 Men on a Dead Man's Chest.

Three Puzzles to go.

No. 4

No. 5 - 2

No. 5 - 7.

Who's going to guess them?

5.2 6 Wives of Henry the VIII

5.7 90 Degrees in a Right Angle

Gee whillikins Ratty. You're cooking on gas!

Right on both counts.

No 4. Each word contains three letters in alphabetical order, e.g. buRST.

Yay! All solved. Thanks Mia.
