Have just heard from my daughter that the Dr suspects that her daughter has asthma and is sending her for an XRay tomorrow ( She has had 2 chest infections close together and starts coughing violently after quite minimal exersize. She is still on antibiotics )
I have a couple of questions that I hope some one can help with:-
In your experiences is there somewhere that my daughter can go for information that will help her at this stage of not knowing for sure what the diagnosis is so that she can better understand what to expect over this quite frightening period of investigation and firm diagnosis. She has been given an inhaler to use which in itself is worrying .
Also can anyone advise me on what I as a grandma do to help support them through this? I would be grateful for any input .
i cnt really give advise as still not 100 % on it myself and my boy is almost 3 and has ad it for 2 years, and my daughter is 8 months and now going thru the same and on pumps, i just wanted to say i fink ur great for wanting to support ur daughter and grandaughter if only i had ppl who cared bout me as much as u care bout ur family, ur ov deep inspiration to me and hope 1 day i can support my own likkle family like u do urs, it will be worrying exspeacially wen luv is involved i hope u find the answers u need, and that ur grandaughter gets the best results possible all the best for the future gd luck x x x
You sound like such a lovely, wonderful grandma! My mum is so unsupportive...your daughter and grandaughter are very lucky to have you.I have only just found this website myself and it has truely been a godsend. My GP has only just referred Max to a specialist after over a year of battling and being put on inhalers and tablets. this website is very informative and I have learnt so much more about how to cope with Max symptoms from here....my GP has given me no advice at all. My advice can only be get as much information as you can from here and also maybe keep a diary of the symptoms (I have just started doing this and got this advice from this website).Hope you grandaughter improves and you get the appt through soon x
