Hi all
I have 2 year old twins, a son and a daughter. My daughter has asthma and eczema and reading some of the posts on this forum has already made me feel more positive about dealing with her conditions. She first had bronchiolitis when she was around 1 and we have been to casualty with her 5/6 times with that, viral induced wheeze, and most recently episodes of bad asthma.
At the moment she has a asthma cough which is really bad at night - she hasn't yet been fully allergy tested (next week) but clearly dust is an issue with that. No matter how many times you hoover and wash bedding and teddies you can't shake it. We are considering removing the carpets in their rooms and getting the windows re-done (to avoid condensation). She needs salbutamol too much for it to be effective and clearly she needs some preventive as well as reliever medication. Again, we are seeing going to a specialist allergy clinic next week so hopefully will be able to get that assessed then.
Our GP surgery (impossible to see the same GP twice) haven't been helpful at all - we had to insist on a referral to a specialist paediatric unit to get a proper assessment and regime for keeping her asthma under control.
Very happy to be in touch with others going through similar challenges!
