Yeap it does help. I have one of these that I use in the winter only when I can't have the windows open to let air in because of the cold and the horrid weather and both my asthma and my son's asthma was better in the night because of this this year. We both have horrid asthma in the winter and normally dueing the winter period we also have horrid nights sleep because of the zsthma but this winter was so much in the night because fo the humidifier

hi,

i dont have 1 but have been told they can help as they get moisture into the lungs and airways - hence why i steam up bathroom and put son in there when hes bad. this does seem to help, i wouldnt say cure but it does work as a short term measure.

Yes and no, some people benefit while others won't. The winter of 08/09 I bought mine (same as you) and mentioned to the asthma nurse and she thought I was mad, but the figures backed it up. Mentioning it to the doc, he agree as it's also a similar principle to treating croup etc in children by steaming up the bathroom. Basically what it does is puts back into the air inside the home the moisture that heating takes out but also colder air contains lest moisture, so drying out our airways. Having said that the warmer air we have now has a lower humidity than I create in the winter at home but I'm better now than during the winter, so it's not a simple fix but does help.
