hi im just wondering if anyone can give me some advice. my son is three and has been unwell for around about 8 days with an upper resp infection. the past couple of days he has been complaining that his back has pains (pointed to around his shoulder blade and under arm area.) all my dr keeps saying is his chest is clear. i can't hear a wheeze but he does have a dry cough (i don't think he is coughing enough to cause pain) he is also a lot more breathless than usual and i have noticed just walking up stairs or down requires him to take rest breaths in between talking.

has anyone had this, i just don't know what to do, i am always taking him the dr's and i think they r getting fed up of this.

jake is on quite a bit of meducation for his asthma

200mg clenil mod twice per day, 4mg montelukast at night and anti histimine 5mg am and pm.

along with blue as and when.

can anyone shed any light for me i am waiting for an appointment with the asthma nurse at alderhey.

thanks

helen. x

Hi just follow your instincts and don't worry about fed up doctors. If you feel unhappy or you feel things are out of control, speak to an out of hours doctor or go to A+E, dial 999 if you are really worried about his breathing.Keeping children calm really helps and don't let them know you are worried, I know it's a near impossible ask but it helps knowing someone is in control. I massage my Sons back which he loves and also keeping them propped up at night helps, when my my Son's asthma is really bad I sleep in the bed next to him,he really relaxes and feels safe. Take care and hope he feels better soon
