after 7 years of asthma attacks frequent hospital admissions, asthma diaries, 3 different consultants, a bronchoscopy and a bunch of other tests and blood test including allergy trests and gases test the docor finally agreed to a diagnosis of asthma - something I've known for years!!!!!

Taking time for diagnosis
I thought a month was bad enough and then it was my manager and NHS Direct questionaire not my GP who diagnosed it. All I got was its a bug that takes time, your chest is clear from my GP and NHS Direct.
I had to see a different doctor, and tell her 'I think I've got asthma', she looked at my records and said yes, try an inhaler and see the nurse. Now I have to learn to manage it.
Hi glad you got some answers. it took 9 years for my Sons diagnosis, mine took 35 years!!Then they took it back and said I was fine, now I have brittle asthma so maybe I should say 41 years
