wats the normal peak flow for 3 year olds?

whats the normal peak flow for a 3 year old, i was just woundering this cause the best my 3 year old can get on a peak flow is 80, is this due to his lungs being so little,

Its very unusual for children this young to do peak flows as they can't always manage the technique - my daughter's asthma nurse said at her last check up that they will start to use tools like that with her around 6+ years....

That said, if you can get a true reading, it goes on height/age and there is a useful site peakflow.com where you can read more and access charts of ""normal"" values for adults and children.

peak flow!

It is very unusual to try and do a peak flow on a child this small! Our resp consultant says that she doesn't like doing them on any child because they're unreliable and because managing asthma is better when done by symptoms not a peak flow. I think that varies consultant to consultant.

My son was doing peak flows at five under the supervision of RBH. It can be very difficult to get technique right when they very young. I agree that someimtes symptoms are a better guide than Pf except with my son he isnt a wheezer and doesnt acknowledge he is ill till last min so sometimes the only indiction is his Pf.
