Hi. I'm fine Had surgery a week ago. Having to put drops in 4 times a day for first week then reduces to 3 then 2 and 1 week 4. Not able to put make up on and wash hair so really annoying. Dont know how long it takes for vision to improve but at present no difference. .Hopefully things will get better soon. Thanks for thinking of me.

Sending hugs. Have a nice day xxSheila 💕⚘🤓

Trouble with me is I am very impatient and expected instant results . Unfortunately this isn't the case and everyone is different. Some are fortunate to see improvement almost immediately, whereas others it has taken up to to 6weeks. Will keep you updated take care. xxSheila 💕⚘

Thank you need all the help I can get lol. I am going out in cognito,, wearing sunglasses in December lol 🙈😎 Will try and wash my hair with shower head leaning back as told not to get soap ,shampoo etc in eye. Anyway small price to pay if all works out well. Problem is have to go through it all again on right eye. When I went on list almost 2 yrs ago only needed left eye done but now told have to have right eye done also . Oh ! The joys of getting old. I have turned into my Mum🙈 . Thanks again for the Positive vibes, have a lovely day and take care xxSheila 💕⚘🤓

Garshe you are definately not old but (as my mum's gp used to say elderly middle aged) an inspiration to many on this site .As for the sunglasses in December they add an air of mystery to a wonderful lady.Have a lovely Sunday and good luck with the hairwashing!

I class it a privilege to get to 78yrs young, better than the alternative. 🙈 Yes definitely an air of mystery with the sunglasses. Lol Take care and I'll keep you updated. xxSheila 💕⚘😎

Your mum must have been a wonderful lady. Glad to hear it went well and hope the positive results kick in soon. No shampooing sounds a bit disconcerting, especially since I think I will be going on the waiting list for surgery soon. Let us know you manage it and get back to your usual elegant self. 💐💐💐 xxx Chris

Hi Chris , Yes have to be careful not to get soap etc into eye so even washing face have to be careful My Mum had cataract OP and unfortunately lost her eye through infection. This is why I am so paranoid. It was over 30 yrs ago and My Mum was Diabetic which thankfully I am not..

Decided not to attempt washing hair for another few days,at least to make sure .Its bitter cold out anyway so best I stay indoors in the warm . Take care and keep warm.xxSheila 💕🧣🧣😎

You're wise to delay hair washing. It all seems to need a lot of self- discipline. xxx

Perhaps yr vision wasnt impaired if small.its yr distance lens measurement they do,to get accurate replacement.at least it won't get worse4u.i think first few washes I prob did in bath and used a jug to rinse it.x

Yes and my eyes are completely different as different strength lenses in glasses. Now I am out of sync until I have other eye done. Hope I'm making sense lol. Thinking of all this down time to go through again. Oh well hopefully will be worth it in the end. Havent had date for second OP yet. I expect sometime in New Year. I wasn't on list for both eyes only left, but my right eye has developed a cataract in the meantime apparently. At least I have got to top of list at last. xxSheila 👍💕🤞🤓

I had mine done many years ago but was also referred to another specialist to have them lasered, something about debris behind the new lens. That did make a difference and if you do happen to need it it only takes about 30 seconds. Dorothy x

Thanks just checked apparently its the other eye is causing problems as now out of sync .until I have other eye done not going to make much difference. 🙈🙈xxSheila 💕

my right eye was good right away but when I had my left eye done things were cloudy and my vision was not good. I started to get worried as even after two weeks it had only improved slightly but it eventually cleared up. They said it could take up to six weeks I believe.

garshe profile image
garshe in reply to jackdup

That's right a,friend said it took 6 weeks for him to feel safe to drive. Then another said it was ok in a week. Everyone differs. . Pleased you are ok now . Good luck and take care xx Sheila 💕👍🤓🤞
