Well for the first time in my life I’m able to gloat about living in the NW 😂 it may be grim up north ( it’s really not ) but my garden is blooming, my lawn is lush green and on Monday the rain never stopped 🌹🌻🌸🌼🌺 . Sorry I just couldn’t resist 😬 but my heart does go out to you and I honestly don’t know how poor Davey is coping , my daughter was in Greece two weeks ago and couldn’t wait to get home , she said it was horrendous, too hot to go anywhere or do anything and she loves the sun and hot weather !

Where abouts was your daughter ? Rhodes is classed as the hottest of the Greek islands and lindos is the hottest part of the island if it's 45degrees here it's 50degrees in lindos because it's in a basin . It's not normally like it as been this year but global warming as caused lots of problems all over the world . In honesty I feel like a chicken being slowly roasted 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’m not sure where my daughter was Davey , she and her husband are hardly ever in the uk , they’re both self employed and if a cheap getaway comes up off they go ! They ve Just today left for a week in Prague They got married in Rhodes and have both been to other parts of Greece before ,they love it but for the first time ever my daughter complained about the heat - I never thought I’d hear that from her so I know it must be really bad ☹️

Yes , it was touch and go , I had the outfit sorted and Geoff wasn’t on oxygen then but in the end we decided it would be too stressful for him and there wouldn’t have been any pleasure for anyone if he’d been poorly so it was upsetting but the right decision 🙂 xx

Well you made the right decision I was asked to give my god daughter away in Glasgow but obviously I can't fly but even if their was a possibility of it anything could happen and i could have made a happy day a sad one . But my heart goes out to you both for not being able to be there

That’s the thing it wouldn’t have been fair and the main thing was she should have a happy day . She’d been on her own for 9 years after her partner died at 35 leaving her with three children under 11 and 7 months pregnant with the fourth so our priority was that she and the grandchildren should have the best time , which they did 😊.

Surprising just how many people come to Rhodes to get married there's a beautiful church that does a lot of weddings in kalimbia harbour such a beautiful little church

it will be more humid after storm and that will fee l even warmer. have not experienced greek thunderstorms /it was in june/july when I was there every year but we had high winds. not good on the water sometimes with water washing over top of small boats and ferries being diverted to other places as happened to us . Davey have you been on the ferry to Symi yet?

We have some here we also have the Italian church here in kremasti which is beautiful inside and out. I can't even go to symi because of my meds I have to go on my machine six times a day so it makes trips out like that impossible

Omg I’d forgotten about Southern Comfort 🤦🏻♀️ Someone bought me one years ago and I had the most horrendous hang over - literally from one drink , never touched it since - although I have had copious amounts of other drinks with no Ill affects 🤔😂

I've got a buddy popping round on Saturday from Australia and I'm sparking up the BBQ got plenty of meat in and salad stuff I'll knock up a blueberry balsamic reduction for the salad with some watermelon and pomegranate. And got some Guinness in the fridge 😂😂😂

Strange how the thunderstorm didnt clear the air like it usually does, it has cooled quite a bit here in the North of England, thankfully . I think this year has been the hottest the world has ever seen and cant imagine having summers like this every year. Perhaps this will give the powers that be a kick in the bum to replant the rain forests, we live in hope. In the meantime get that ice in front of the fan Dave and keep cool anyway that you can x

What you had as a heatwave is our usual temperature during the summer but it is excessive this summer and I can't see it dropping until October when we usually go from shorts to long trousers 😂😂😂

Yes excessive heat for all. I was saddened when i saw the news and couldnt believe just how bad this year has been for alot of countries with scorched brown earth, lets hope the rains come along soon to cool things down x

You wouldn't believe how many Brits out here with young kids no t.shirts no hats and not carrying bottles of water absolutely crazy saw one little lad about five his back and neck bright red and he kept asking for a drink his dad said he had to wait till he got back to the hotel . I stopped the family outside my friends restaurant and gave the little lad a bottle of water he said thanks but I really wanted to slap his dad for being so irresponsible. It's crazy
