Canterbury Break to visit Friends

Came down to Canterbury on Friday morning after viewing and accepting a warden support bungalow in a small block of 20. in a local Shropshire village Where we all get together and support each other. My friends yesterday took me out and we ended up overlooking Dover ferry terminal . Picture included. I am here till the Wednesday and then get back to start organising things for my move into the Bungalow at the end of the month

No I am not much of a drinker. Its going to be an emotional few days because I never wanted my marriage to come to this and its so sad. I am a big softie and it's going to be upsetting. Hope your feeling better pal

in reply to Bingo88

It's hard to make big changes in life but I hope this change will be a positive one. Life throws us lemons quite often . I'm well aware of this myself as my new post explains

I'm really happy for you Brian, it sounds like a great plan. I hope your move goes smoothly and isn't too stressful :) xx

Bingo88 in reply to leo60

Thanks so much. It will be tinged with sadness but I have tried for the 5 years hoping things would get better but it's sadly Brought me down so much I have had enough. Hope your keeping as well as possible love. Brian

leo60 in reply to Bingo88

Of course it will be sad, but if your current home is bringing you down you have made the right decision :) Unless my daughter stays living here, I will be faced with the same problem, but so far so good ;) xx

Bingo88 in reply to leo60

Its so difficult love when you're loving and kind hearted but sadly people take advantage of that and use it against you. Hope your keeping as well as possible. Brian

Sorry Brian, I didn’t realise that your marriage was the issue. It will indeed be hard, especially as you are such a loving, kind man. I don’t say that just because you said it, I hear it in all your messages, they are always thoughtful and caring. Big hugs 🤗 xx

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to leo60

Thanks so much. Your a Special Lady as well I have friends on Facebook who say how caring I am as well but you always get a few who don't see it that way love. Sadly we live in a world where some people wonder what your after if you are complimentary to them

leo60 profile image
leo60 in reply to Bingo88

We just do what we do, don’t we? And as a man it is easy to have things misconstrued sadly. As long as inside you know 😊 xx

That sounds perfect, Brian. Canterbury is a lovely city, I used to visit my friend who lives a few miles out of the city. I'm sure you will be very happy there. All the best, do let us know how you are, once settled. xxx

The bungalow sounds like a great move for you Brian. We have a little area around the corner from me that has the same type of thing and it seems to work well. A nice photo of Dover, have sailed from there a few times. Good luck with the move x

Thank you. Its been a really difficult 5 years I have tried and got more brought down in my self confidence and although I have found it so difficult. I am coming to terms with it. I won't say I don't have emotional moments when I struggle. But it's because I care so much and didn't want this to happen. Hope alls as well as possible for you too. Brian

madonbrew in reply to Bingo88

I imagine it’s a huge step Brian! It sounds like you have thought hard about it! I’m sure there will be emotional times but I hope once you’re settled you’ll be glad for the positives of your new pad and will be good having the security of a warden.

Yes it has been hard. Because its not what I wanted. But when you keep going around in circles and getting nowhere and just making each other unhappy living in an Atmosphere it's time to call it a day. My retirement has not been at all enjoyable so far. And I am a happy helpful positive person and this has all brought me down sadly. So time to get back up again. Hope your as well as possible and enjoy your day. I have my 2nd viewing to measure up and everything this morning and get my keys on Wednesday. Brian

It looks as if you had a really pleasant break-i hope there were some nice sea breezes up on that cliff. Hope the move is not too taxing. All the best. xxx

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to Alberta56

Thanks so much the move will be more emotional than anything because it's the end of 26 years and it's a long time and upsetting for me. Last time I came to Canterbury a year ago I was here on my own then and only lasted 2 nights because of anxiety because I knew my wife should have been with me and I struggled to accept the situation. But I am in a better place now. Hope your day is going well. Brian

Yes present living arrangements can be a problem when we get older. I was offered a 1st floor flat with the same company but I was thinking about if I get to having problems getting up the stairs so decided to wait for a ground floor. Hope you manage to get something more suitable for you. Brian

Thank you Brian I would absolutely hate to move as I love where I am and we have amazing neighbours which is always a worry but sometimes the steps are a nuisance can’t have everything very best of luck xx

Brian, your new home sounds wonderful. It will be good to have access to people when you want but still your own front door for when you need time to yourself. Using this lead up time with friends and awakening old memories is so positive. These stages as we get older and face the changes in our health can be emotional roller coasters but you have a great prize in your move, so I do hope that it all goes well.

My very best wishes,

Grace

That's so beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes when I seen your name because it was my Mom's name as well and I still miss her so much even after nearly 32 years. Many thanks. Brian

Walkwalkwalk profile image

You take care Brian. When I was a child no one seemed to be called Grace so your mum and I must have been exceptions. Now it’s a very popular name. I am sorry that you lost her all that time ago. You do learn to live with it but the memories last. It will be 40 years next year since my husband died and my mother went 2 years before. That was not the best 40th year!!

Your move will now be your main focus and I hope that it goes well.

Grace
