Thinking of you Dave but best you don’t go home until more stable or you’ll be back in there again. Chin up and try and stay positive. Today or maybe tomorrow. You’re being looked after. Xxxx🤞🏼🥰🤗xxxx

in reply to sassy59

Half the problem is being in here all I'm hearing is the Greek language and may be talking clingon

Best to stay put Dave rather than go home only to be readmitted again. Language aside, you seem to be in good hands.

Sorry to hear that Dave, I think you must have been yearning for your JD causing your stress levels to rise. Just sit back and think of all those peaceful wonderful sunsets you see and you'll back back out and home as soon as.......easier said than done I know. 🤞🌠

Sorry Daveyboy. What a pain in the a**e being ill is. In my recent stay they told me practically every day that I would go home tomorrow! You will be back before you know it and meanwhile .......... think of all the time you have to pester us 😂😂 you could write us your life story 😱😱 ! Anyway let them look after you until your stress levels go down 😘 xx

Good man 👍🏼 I hadn't had a drink in sixteen years after years of Guinness and Bushmills 😂 but I have a glass of JD to focus and de-stress but find that not best idea with stress 😬

Wonderboy6 profile image
Wonderboy6 in reply to

All booze is a depressant especially gin. Shame, gin and angostura bitters are beautiful on a sunny day 😎

in reply to Wonderboy6

So is Bushmills no ice just straight but I'm kinda bias 😂😂😂😂 I go for second best JD honey with a couple of ice cubes .

in reply to Wonderboy6

Didn't say one glass or one bottle though 😂😂

I may be teaching granny to suck eggs, but I can lower my BP/stress with frequent meditation, also when I am in hospital, it does help me to "tune out" on what Is going on around me. Hope you are out soon.

in reply to SORRELHIPPO

I struggle to stay focused on anything for more than five minutes. Music usually helps me but certain music. .

Do yourself a playlist of your favourite music on your phone. Have you got some headphones with you, perhaps not or you would probably tuning all the talking out 😄. Reading helps me relax. Trouble is I read about a chapter then can't keep my eyes open 💤. Hope you're discharged as soon as possible.

Sorry about your bad news but i find that hospitals do stress you out anyhow. I never had swollen ankles until i was in hospital and i wa delayed going home because they wanted me to see the cardiologist i told thetes nothing wrong with my heart last check i had at gp surgery the said i had about a 3% chance of having a heart attack. The swollen ankles is because ive pumped with load of fluid not as mobile as i am at home it just gone down to my ankles but soon as i got home and got more mobile it vanished.

in reply to Pipswhips

Home is always the best place to recoupe

Grim is a good word! I kept calling hubby to bring me a Costa coffee & a muffin. Oh & fruit.

And lunch!
in reply to Otto11

I was eating nothing but lentil soup and a rusk . The coffee tasted like old socks and powdery . Back home now so decent food and drink 🙂🙂

in reply to Otto11

Glad someone as experienced what I have been subjected to 😂😂😂😂

Otto11 profile image
Otto11 in reply to

Definitely an experience!!

in reply to Otto11

Something not wanting to repeat . Brilliant doctors but you wouldn't want the food just eat the box it comes in 😂😂 mind you the lentil soup was fantastic but yet again not every day 😂😂

Oh Daveyboy. As has been said, you are being well looked after, they just want to be sure you will be fully recovered before you return home. Shouldn’t be too long now. All the best.😀

in reply to

I've just got home. Had to wait longer for the taxi as it's a public holiday here for the festival of Santa Maria

Well Davey being home will have a lot of positives for you but please be careful not to overdo it. Remember that there are people around that have already offered help. All your friends here are happy for you and that you are so much better.

Take care. Enjoy the sunset.

So glad to hear you are home Dave and enjoying the freedom that brings, although there is nothing like your own bed. I am sure you have enjoyed a good coffee at your local, take it easy now and rest up a little x

Glad to hear you're home! Enjoy the fresh air and fresh coffee! Not the 'stinky old socks' kind!😂

in reply to dunnellon

I've already had three mugs of coffee from my perculator some nice Jacobs caramel. And got a lamb stew out of the freezer that I made a few weeks ago. Had a good siesta on my bed and just watching a little Jurassic park dominion 😁😁😁

That sounds so good ! This is why we have the bad times so the good times seem more amazing 😃

in reply to Thepainterswife

Well after what I had explained today before discharge I'm better off at home to digest it looks like lots worse to come in a few months. But I'm ok with it

Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply to

Our Gp came to visit last week not requested by us but by a district nurse who had called the previous day . We were surprised to see him and quite shocked when he proceeded to tell us how sick my husband is and basically that he hasn’t long left , symptoms will get worse etc etc He completed a DNR form and asked did Geoff want to spend his last days at home or in hospital? When the doc left Geoff got up , washed up and has been more active than usual ever since - no way is he going without a fight 😂 Stay positive and keep going 👍

in reply to Thepainterswife

I know where you are coming from doctors here are extremely direct which I like ! Ok the way they word things are little to be desired but that's a language barrier issue . I'm. Ready for what to expect coming but there's certain things I seriously need to do but these are the problem to solve then I can move forward. My thoughts are with your husband and yourself may all our journeys be peaceful. 🙏🙏

Santa Maria, well done Geoff. Do not go kindly into that good night but wash the dishes till they're bright.

in reply to Greenthorn

Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply to Greenthorn

Brilliant Greenthorn 😂🤣 Geoff loves it . Whenever my daughter rings to get an update on her dad she asks “ is he still washing up ?” It’s our technical assessment of his condition - if he feels well enough to wash up he knows he’s fine and completely ignores all other opinions 😂

Sounds comfy for sure! Enjoy your homecoming, Davey! Wishing you sweet dreams tonight in your own bed and without all the fussing that goes on in hospitals during the night. I had one nurse last time I was there, called her the vampire, woke me up every night around 3am to take a couple vials of blood. WTH!

in reply to dunnellon

I know that one it's like they go out the door and drink it 😂😂 for me it was the 24hour god channel and not hearing English voices mind you not having a view didn't help either . So tonight mosquitos or not I'm sleeping outside under my stars . 👍🏼👍🏼
