I’ve just had Covid as well after avoiding it by sticking with the lockdown and careful socialising rules for the last two or so years. I was very afraid of how ill I might be after the scary “Stay at home” letters. As life has got back to normal I’ve been venturing out and mixing a bit more. We’d been at a very busy sporting weekend with lots of spectators, so wasn’t entirely surprised when my husband and I started showing symptoms. It has been looking more like “when, not if” we’d get covid given the number of people we knew who had more recently caught it.
As it turns out, I seem to have got away lightly. A couple of days coughing to start, took an LFT test that was positive, then a couple of days of fevers, muscle and joint aches which needed regular ibuprofen and paracetamol to get on top of. And then that passed and I just stayed home for a week until my LFT test was negative.
My husband, with no lung issues, has had it worse than me, and is now very fatigued. We do both still have a bit of a chesty cough. Perhaps I’ve been lucky as this was probably the Omicron variant, and we’re fully vaccinated. So it is different for each person no matter your health history 🤷♀️ I’m hoping that this infection will have boosted my immune system a little more and keep me safe from any future infections, and good luck to all the rest of you 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞👍
