Just wondered how many bronchiectasis patients are on Lorazapam. Been on half a tablet morning and night for about 7 or 8 years. Now suffering panic attacks at night. Do I take more? Ruining my life now, can’t stop thinking about how I can get better. Any help would be appreciated!

Lorazapam dose
Hi, I'm sorry that you are struggling and having panic attacks. I know how frightening they can be. I really think that you need to speak to your doctor to get advice about your medication rather than just increase the prescribed dose.In the meantime there are several you tube videos that may help you to cope with anxiety and panic.
Hello, I suffer with bronchiectasis but the medication you mention...Lorezapam is used to treat anxiety not bronchiectasis. If you are having panic attacks and this is something new you should contact your doctor to see if the tablets are causing these side effects.
I was allowed to increase my dose from half to one tablet twice a day for my anxiety. However, if that doesn’t work talk to your doctor about oramorph as it is slightly stronger. No chemical control of anxiety is best but that’s not always possible. Whatever you do take care and try to keep positive thoughts.
Peace and love!
Check with gp but I was on 3/4 a day the 4th one being used only when going out which was anxiety and panic attacks it was reccomended to my gp to put half a tablet before going out under my tongue. But always check with gp. Hope you feel less anxious soon.
I have been using Lorazepam for anxiety, usually half tablet under the tongue for when going into stress situations or panic attacks, it has always worked . You say you have been on them for 7/8 years, Monetlover, maybe they are no longer as effective and you should speak to your GP for a possible alternative, to help with night panic attacks. Good luck with that and hope you get some help. Take care. Carol xxx
Perhaps your GP could change your meds are no longer working for you?
I have COPD Emphysema and had heart attacks and started taking Lorazepam 4 years ago to cushion the panic attacks and it worked alongside counselling which I still also take once a month. I have found it a life saver and managed to get back into a shower for instance and it helps me sleep better. During this period I have increased by 1/2 tablet to 1 mg a day most days. Chat to your GP and avoid simply increasing this very addictive drug as useful as it can be.
My go wont prescribe any anti anxiety meds or ay type of sleeping pills even to help during acute periods.
