Just diagnosed with gastritis and oesophagitis. Stomach fine with PPi but horrendous
Choking throat mucous.
Anyone else have this problem ?
if so what do you take to alleviate it ?

Has oral thrush been ruled out?
The inflammation (......itis) maybe caused by allergies or food intolerance.
Go on a bland diet for acid reflux (I know you're on a PPI) keep a diary of what you eat drink.
Cut down/out dairy, alcohol, coffee etc.
If it improves start adding back in as you like to see what worsens it and so to avoid.
Try gargling your way through a cup hot salty water before bed and in morning and maybe a third mid way through the day.. Boring and leaves a salty taste for 5 mins, but avoids another medication with possible side effects.
Water hot as you can, start with level teaspoon of salt (pure is probably best but table is fine, too) in a mug.
I also get post nasal drip/sinusitis which makes it worse and use a netti pot as well for that.
These aren't cures but make it more tolerable; but mine is much better than it was.
The other thing that I find helpful is to clean your tongue and cheeks inside with a medium (not hard) tooth brush morning & night.
Other than that what does your GP say?
