I was only asking a question I have worked all my life allso never claimed wanted to know if I could claim for anything while I was off but thank you for your response
Question: I was only asking a question... - Lung Conditions C...
Question
Hi Dave, I guess you are in the UK, so try contacting the BLF helpline by phone or email....open during working hours. They can advise on benefits as can the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Take care
Hi , I'm also in the same position , always worked but never claimed got anything . I've found it really difficult getting any help with anything you just get pushed from pillar to post . After 42 weeks of waiting I finally got the lower rate mobility part of PIP this is £24 a week !!!!! . I am currently on oxygen 24hours s day and waiting a double lung transplant . Good luck though 😀😀
I would of asked for a reconsideration on that decision. I take it that you cannot walk more than 20 metres without discomfort? If it was not for the O2 you would not be walking I bet.
I have noticed that if the claim is passed they will always give the lower unless it is questioned!
Be well
It was a valid question.
You can claim even if you work so you may be entitled to some financial help....its not so much about what illness you have but how it affects your daily life ie does it stop you doing things that you use to do, do you need help with things that you should be able to do on your won that sort of thing so you should look into it x
You could contact your local Welfre Rights if you have one in your area, CAB or DIAL - they should all be able to help you.

CAB or Age UK if over 50 is a start.
