Sorry to hear you're not feeling too good. The antibiotics will kick in after a couple of days and you should start to pick up. At least you're getting treatment now even though it is woeful you had to suffer for all that time. You should be given a spirometers test to gauge how well your lungs are working. Others will be along to give you further advice. Eat well, rest and do whatever exercise you can. That should read SPIROMETRY test!
I have been on the antibiotics and steroids for 2 weeks and feel no better!
Spirometry back in last summer and the nurse said i was borderline, but i was feeling really well at the time!
He also said that i have reduced air flow in my left lung??
I care for my husband who has severe COPD and I have learnt that COPD affects everyone differently. Certainly with antibiotics and steroids you should start to feel better unless you are not on the correct antibiotics, in which case the doctor usually does a sputum test to check. Having said that - I am not medical it might be a good idea to ring the BLF helpline and ask their advise - the nurses maybe able to advise what you should be asking the doctors and what sort of treatment is available - 03000 030 555 Lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. The very best of luck and hope you start to feel better soon. TAD xx
They have helped with my breathing a bit, but this pain in my ribs is getting worse by the day, my doctor says he wont give me any pain killers till ive had my x ray!
Not sure i can put up with this for too long, i can barely move today........arrrrrrr
