Hello, I'm new here.

I'm going to be 70 this January and have a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome. I have no family and am alone. I am very fit and enjoy going out to groups but wonder what will happen when I am older and need care and someone to hep me with a will and so on.

Best wishes from vegantart

Try a care company such as Terrablu, or talk to your GP or social services, though I understand that might not be quite what you meant.

Hello Vegantart. I would explore the facilities available in the area. You sound quite independent, so, maybe sheltered/supported housing. They are self catering units with wardens and access to health care professionals, some with a host of support services. The idea is to help older people retain their independence with access to a community and whatever support they might need, when and as they see fit.

Why are you worried about your will?

Hello. My husband is 80 in January next year. He was diagnosed aged around 60. I do so much for him that he can't cope with alone. He is really worried about how he could live without me to look after him and to help him to have a good life. He had an assessment with Social Services and sees a support person for three hours every other week. This is very important for him and he feels feels better to have a person to talk to and to help him.
