Hello I’m new here and would really appreciate some advice. So I went to gp as have had irregular periods for 6 months pain during and after sex pelvis hip lower back and leg pain for last two months. I haven’t had a smear because I was always bleeding so urgent referral to gynecologist done but have a min of 4 months waiting to be seen. Gp had a look and cervix only visual and said she could see a couple of cysts but I’ve took a picture of my cervix and that is not what I’m feeling. I can feel and see two very hard lumps and further up at least another 1 or 2 lumps very hard. I have discomfort every time I check and the lumps are twice the size as a month ago. I will provide a picture for your thoughts and advise. Discusting I know but I’m concerned as my cervix feels deformed. I can’t even have sex any more. Hopefully pic will be allowed to go up . Please I appreciate any advice .

Thank you .

Hi there,

Thank you for your message. We're really sorry to hear you're experiencing this pain and worry.

We're unable to offer a diagnosis over this platform/make an assessment based on a photograph, I'm afraid. This is something that will need to be shown to and discussed with your GP. As your symptoms have worsened (you mentioned you're now not able to have sex) can we suggest going back to your GP and reporting this to them? It's correct that as you were having abnormal bleeding (bleeding that's not normal for you as an individual - everyone is different/has different bleeding patterns) your GP referred you for a gynae appointment rather than carried out a cervical screening (smear) but an urgent referral would be within 2 weeks (or thereabouts), rather than a 4 month wait. Can we ask that when you report the pain/being unable to have sex that you also ask why this wasn't passed as an urgent referral, or ask if it can be put onto the 2 week referral pathway for further investigations.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch with our nurse service on nurse@eveappeal.org.uk

Best Wishes,

The Ask Eve Team

Thanks so much for your reply.

I finally have another examination with smear app this friday so I will show the dr the pics and ask her to check. Depending on finding by my gp they will look to extradite the referral.

I’ll let you know the out come as it’s useful to other women experiencing what I am.

Thank you for your time .

Hi sorry you find your self looking for answeres here . I’m still in same boat really. I had results back from llletz and confirmed cin 3 and will do colposcopy again in sept to check if still gone. As for my post about symptoms and mass that all still remains . I had mri which showed a lesion but they didn’t know what it was so got second opinion on mri scan images and now they so no diffinitive mass and re scan mri in 3 months. Such a frustrating time because it’s over a inch in length now. Oncology could feel it but can visualize it. I have no idea what it is and will have to wait for another mri and hope for answeres. If you have foul smelling brown discharge then see your gp immediately. That’s the one thing I don’t have the bad smell .

Hi sorry to hear you are getting no help. I’ve had three different opinions from different gynecologist and radiologists. Still no answere. I had cin 3 removed in March which is server abnormal cells on the cervix. Not cancer but turn to cancer if left untreated. I still have brown watery discharge every day for 6 months and I bleed for 30 days at a time. I’m having another mri this month and ultrasound because I do have a solid mass in the uterus cervix area which can only be felt and not seen because of its location. Mine has grown from tiny to over a inch in a few months and I’m in a lot of pain in my cervix and pelvis. To be honest it’s real hard to. diagnosis and I’m hoping the next mri will be more clear. You should not have pink discharge that does need looking at. I myself suffer with anxiety anc fybromyalgia. So I know what it’s like to be thobed off. My first gynecologist appointment he was horrible. He took a look up there and said nothing wrong with you and refused to do colposcopy. He dons th ex biopsy though and guess what ! It came back cin 3. So yes they mess you around a lot. Just because it looks normal dosnt mean it is. Just like in my case. Also I can’t have sex at all since November because of the painful mass. I will let you know at beginning of April my results from mri. I also tested positive for hpv virus that’s the common cancer causing virus the one that causes cin. Have you had a scan or smear .

I'm glad it didn't go any further with u and I hope your next mri it's normal I really do and yeah got an pelvic ultrasound booked for 27th but apparently most of the time they can't even see cc on there or abnormalities in the cervix which scares me more, and as for the hpv I had all my jabs when I was a kid but that doesn't mean nothing really its so scary, and doctors can be a nightmare can't they it's so unprofessional really 😕 I really hope all will be okay with you. X
