Biopsys, pre cancerous cells, hysterectomy.advice please!!!!!

Hi, I have had 2 biopsys (having3rd 2day) they found pre cancerous cells, they said they strongly recommend a hysterectomy as they don't know why they're there. I just need advice please!!!! Any advice!!!

Hi bedhair, I had 2 biopsys for pre cancerous cells in the uterus but prior to the second biopsy but on the same day I had an ultra sound on my ovaries which showed a small tumour. Have u had any other tests than just the biopsys

aww bless you marmalademountain, I've had a ultra sound and having another next month. so far nothing else (touch wood!!). did you have the tumour removed? and a hysterectomy? (am i being to nosey? I've not had much experience with writing on boards) any advice on any of this would be amazing!!!!

Hi bedhair, I had a total hysterectomy in Feb 2015 but the procedure was far easier than I was expecting. The 2 biopsies were in Oct 2014 and although they only showed pre cancerous cells by the time I had the hysterectomy they had turned into a grade 1 tumour and I also had a tumour in my left ovary. I only had a one night stay in hospital and left hospital less than 24 hours after the op finished. Hope you don't need a hysterectomy but if things progress that far have a look at the hysterectomy association website, very informative and supportive

I have pre cancerous cells. My condition, if that is what you call it, is atypical endometrial hyperplasia. The way I see it is that we are lucky that it has been caught before it turned cancerous. They gave me 2 options hysterectomy or coil as I am still of child bearing age. They say the best option is hysterectomy, but I know it must be a shock for you. It took me a few months to come to terms with it. It would be nice to still have the option open to have more children. But you need to decide what is best for you and your family.

aww bless you AnzC, I havent had any children, they've given me a coil, I'm just keeping, well everything crossed!! can i ask what did you do???? (again am I being nosey? I don't know the etiquette!)

How you feel after the Procedure ? Im 42 and have couple weeks to Decide what i gone do . Im so scared of the hysterectomy ;(

Hi, it is now 2 years on since my hysterectomy. I'm 44. It was tough for me personally. I think it was more emotional than physical. I felt very sorry for myself. But 2 years on I can honestly say I am fine. It is quite nice not to have a period. I think the only thing is because of adhesions I can feel pain in my lower tummy. But this is only if I've done tummy exercises, so you would usually feel muscle pain as well. But that is just me being picky. I run, do ballet, do yoga, so is quite active. I kept my ovaries so haven't gone through menopause yet. Hysterectomy is a big operation. If you don't feel ready to decide, get more information or maybe make another appointment with the hospital. I changed hospital as the first hospitals consultant told me I am making a big deal of it. As a man I didn't feel he had any sympathy with how it would affect me as a woman. There is a facebook group Hysterectomy UK. I can look up the correct name. I joined them about 2 months after my operation as you have a lot of questions when healing. They can be quite helpful but sometines people only post when they have a worry and that can upset some people who haven't had their operations yet
