Are prescriptions free if you have cancer?

Yes, it is now government policy that prescriptions should be free once you've had a cancer diagnosis. Ask your GP or hospital nurse specialist for application form (FP92A) and you should receive a prescription exemption form. This applies to all prescriptions, not just those related to cancer. The certificate is valid for 5 years and can be renewed if you are still undergoing cancer treatment or still experiencing the effects of cancer or its treatment.
