Knee replacement!

I have in the future do a knee replacement beause an arthrose developed throught many years of a high level competition. But i had read that its is complicante to kneel after even many mouths after the replacement. I wonder who has this replacement more then , 2, 3 4 years could answer if I can come back to dance like zumba or if I cannot kneeling how happen with the sex activity beause we do kneeling a lot during the intercourse dont you? So please someone with this experience here?

I think it would depend on your overall health how quickly you recover, if you have a full or partial knee replacement and how active you are.

I have had both knees replaced and cannot kneel at all on them. For bedroom activities I would suggest using soft pillows or memory foam so that your knees on not on a hard surface. It is all trial and error to find a position which does not cause you pain.

I found that my new knees to be limited in side or twisting action, they just won't turn like your own knees. However, I do not regret having them done as at least the pain is better and I can trust them not to give way and land me on the floor.

Unfortunately due to other conditions I was not able to get fit before the ops and I found physio a bit of a struggle although hydrotherapy helped.

If you have a date for the op, try to lose weight, go for walks, swim regularly and generally increase your fitness levels as much as you can.

Thank U my dear ! I am a former Fitness athet and very fit so I have done hip replacement and was amazing recovering. But I had read that knée it's more complicated and the fact that you cannot kneeling after its very abseting to me. I am all about moviment and dance. But I am going to try avoid the op as long as I can.

Hi, I had a knee replacement which was botched by the first surgeon, left in worse pain, and permanent nerve damage. After a second surgery, a complete knee revision I have not over time been able to kneel during sex or continue with my regular activities, the second surgery was successful, but I have to modify much of my previous activities and can no longer run, something I thoroughly enjoyed. Even walking a distance is difficult. I am not sure how much is the knee replacement and how much is due to the peroneal neuropathy from the first surgery. I have heard from people who had no problem's and resumed normal activities, even marathon running. I guess there is no good answer. I had two excellent surgeon's however two seperate outcome's, neither what I had hoped for.
