I'm thinking of trying Turmeric for my arthritis. Anyone use it, and does it help ? I'm also on meds for hypo thyroid. Thanks in advance.

They say it does but I haven't really noticed and I put it in everything I cook but it's supposed to help so it can't do any harm

Thank you for quick reply. I was thinking of the Solgar capsules. I don't want to take Naproxen if I can help it.

Don't expect instant & massive pain relief from turmeric, but rather a gentle quietening of your joints. The thing with turmeric is you can take it every day, every meal, every drink (I just had some in my porridge & with a miso drink) and it will not only help your joints but turmeric has other seriously beneficial bonuses. Whatever always take turmeric with black pepper since that improves its potency by a massive 2000%.

Thanks Andy, that sounds a better option than taking turmeric tablets. I'll have a look into it. Not sure if I can get it same place I was going to get the tablets.

Ihave just started taking Golden paste. A friend recommended it.It is a mixture of Tumeric, coconut oil and black pepper. The recipe is on the internet and I am just starting my second batch. The swelling in my hand has reduced quite considerably and I can lift my head off the pillow without going ow out loud. It has lessened the pain but I am not pain free. I am not on any other medication having stopped everything last year as I was fed up of the side effects. It is worth a try.I take it off a spoon with a large amount of water.I also stir it into soup etc

Thank you for your advice. I'm not sure if I would like the taste, which is why I was considering the tablets. Like you, I don't like the normal medication.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I started taking it on Friday. The tablet twice a day, and have been mixing a little of the powder into my cereals. Trying to get used to the taste. I've been told it takes a while to get into system. I'm 70, arthritis for about 3 years, also hypothyroid.

I'm glad it is helping you, hopefully I will be saying the same in a couple of months.

Try Curcumin tablets, which is the extract of the working chemical in Tumeric. I get mine from one of those well-known online stores. Look at the contents of the tablet, and get the highest dosage you can. You should be looking for 95%+. ie 950mg per 1000

Thank you for your advice. As I've only just started taking Turmeric, I will stick with that for now and see how I feel in a couple of months or so. Good to know there is something else I can try if Turmeric doesn't help.
