Trigger finger

Fat mid right hand finger compared to left. Aches and stiffness for nearly four years. Started after bowel resection for endometriosis. On meds for high BP and stopping periods. Had several injections for finger (started!) Now on new meds for endometriosis... waiting to see if change. Thus is now causing uncomfortable discomfort

I have arthritis in my hands my joints started to swell and my index finger was particularly sore my knuckle in my index finger has moved I'm assuming I have arthritis in my fingers as they can be very painful and I have it in other areas of my body. Could that be a possibility?

When I saw the title of your post I thought great someone else has twitches and shakes I'm glad you don't . When i'm sending texts I twitch and send it before I'm ready it is a real nuisance and I also have the shakes quite badly i'm on blood pressure meds, antidepressants and asthma meds perhaps the meds cause this but I look like an alcoholic going through with drawl which is really embarrassing as I haven't been able to have alcohol due to gout.

Hi Rainey that's arthritis, I have got trigger finger its a lump on the inside of the palm of your hand and the finger jumps up on its own and sticks in that position for a short while mine is the ring finger ir was caused by the drug letrozole (breast cancer drug) it's a side effect of the drug

Was the diagnosis actually 'trigger' finger? I ask as I had that condition in 2003, when the middle finger of my left hand would lock down into the palm and had to be prized open. Use of reverse gear in the car was particularly painful through the wrist and up the arm to the elbow but a simple surgery to the tendon sheath of that finger completely cured the problem. In 2010 I had simultaneous surgeries for carpal tunnel and De Quervain's Syndrome on that hand, to release tendon sheaths In the wrist and thumb respectively, and by regular computer key-boarding I have maintained relatively good hand function and straight fingers, although since RhA diagnosis in April 2016 both wrists now sound 'clicky'. Unfortunately my feet are a different proposition, but no-one told me that their congenital deformity was recognised 72 years ago!

I had this problem in my thumb and after an operation to fix t have to say it;s been fine since.Worst part was the injection to numb it OUCH !

What kind of arthritis diagnosis do you have? That finger looks very like the "sausage digit" that is typical of psoriatic arthritis. Do you have any skin or nail problems?

Good that you have pics: for sure the day you have your doctors appointment, it will be perfectly normal! Never fails.
