Will this ever go away?

I’m battling these demons every day

They’re not getting better, they only get worse,

I’m starting to think maybe I am just cursed

Will I ever escape this hell?

It’s taken over me and made me frail

I sit there suffering every day

Oh why oh why can’t they just go away ?!

What can I do to stop this pain?

This pain I feel I can’t take the strain

It’s worn me down so much I can’t breathe

But I battle these demons alone because no one can see

Will finish later

Hello Bumblebeeee

How clever you are to write such a moving poem reflecting on the trauma of PP and the hold it has on you at the moment. It's very sad really to see how you are struggling. I also wrote poems years ago which were probably similar but they were not kept. I think we can all relate to the depths of despair you have written about but hope you know that you will find your place again and silence the demons.

You will get better eventually with good medical care and support around you. It might seem a fair way off but your courage has carried you this far. It does seem very unfair but stay strong ....... we are all here to listen. Sending a hug of comfort :) xx

Hello Bumblebee,

keep on writing from your soul, it is a way of screaming out loud and giving yourself a voice.

Creative writing can be very therapeutic!

Like Lilybeth I kept hold of quotes, poems and some very special literature, but I also have been writing in order to relief my pain, but also reflecting on happy moments.

PPP is so traumatising, even my partner wrote a poem whilst I was in despair, just for me.

We are here and feel your pain. Always remember you are not on your own, we all can share our lived experience; we can listen and read your moving poems.

Life will improve for you, too.

Hi Lilybeth. Your poem is so strong and powerful. Please keep writing them.

Poems from the heart are a tool to let you unleash the trauma that you are battling. Finding words to empower you.

You will overcome. Take each day as it comes. We are here to encourage each other to stay strong and to let each other know that we are not alone.

I wrote poems years ago and felt such a relief from doing so.

Thank you for sharing.

Hi SpinalPain

Thank you for the encouragement but the writer of the "Poem'" post was Bumblebeeee :) reflecting on her struggles at the time. I had PP many years ago and from my notes I also wrote poetry, which wasn't kept for me but I think would have been similar. You're right that we are here to encourage each other to stay strong and this is a good safe space to share experiences. Take care.

Hi Bumlebeeee, I have originally posted a reply to Lilybeth by mistake. I am not too tech savvy. Sorry for my mistake. I will paste my original words here to you.
