Has anyone experienced auditory hallucinations that don't make noise ? Kinda weird but that's what I've been experiencing the past couple days when going to sleep.

Hello Michelle0

I had hallucinations during my psychosis but there was always a voice attached. I imagined a moth which expanded and grew bigger, sitting between my husband and I whenever we had a conversation. The moth would call me a bad mother and encourage self harm. I used to shout back at it and, of course, this looked as if I was shouting at my husband as no one else could see it! I had other hallucinations but they also had a voice.

Perhaps this is something you might discuss with your counsellor as hallucinations can be very frightening especially if they are disturbing your sleep.

Take care.

Yeah I did I think it's hard to understand I don't know a better way to put it but I have my second appointment with her soon and I'll get to talk more the last appointment was kinda just how everything started and all that. Did you know when you were having a hallucination?

When I've been either getting poorly or improving I get a funny phase where the voices aren't quite voices but are still more than intrusive thoughts. Does that make sense? Maybe something like you are experiencing?

Well these will just be like my husband saying random things like no no is the only thing I remember the other was just rambled words I can't remember but it's not a noise it's like a thought or something maybe it's the same thing idk lol it's really confusing

Hello Michelle0

I didn't know when I was having hallucinations ..... they were just all very real and frightening at the time. I remember most of what happened during my PP but these finer details were in my notes. It might be a thought as suggested that gets stuck while others float in and out? It's good that you'll be seeing your counsellor soon but in the meantime I hope your sleep isn't disturbed too much.

Take care.

My counselor said she doesn't even know if what I have is ppp because I always know when I'm having them so now I'm just so confused. I'll be getting more info on it soon. I don't know why else I would have auditory hallucinations

Hello Michelle0

Try not to worry ...I'm sorry if I confused you. My PP was so long ago but there might be other mums here who knew they were having hallucinations, just as you do. It's good that your counsellor knows a lot about psychosis so she'll be able to reassure you.

Best wishes.

No worries you didn't confuse me I'm just confused by what she said. Ill have to just watch out for my symptoms. And keep letting her know what's going on.

That's a good idea .... Perhaps you could keep a diary of the frequency and thoughts to show her at your next appointment so she knows how to help?

Take care.

I was thinking of doing that I almost did it 2 nights ago but was so tired to get up. One thing my counselor said that scared me is that as my hormones get more crazy I could get more ill and I still have 18 weeks left and there not willing to up my meds at all or add anything so I'm worried about that. And also that it's a good possibility of my psychosis being worse the second time than the first. I'm confused because there's so many things going on and possibilities and no for sure reason what's going on with me so I feel like I'm not getting the best treatment but she seemed like she was going to put in a lot in place for me so I just hope everything gets better. It's hard not knowing what's going on with yourself.
