Hello Mamadollface

Good to hear from you ..... welcome to the forum where you will find lots of support and advice. I've not heard of any PP recovery groups in Kensington and Chelsea. Usually I think if there are mums in those areas they might meet up to share experiences at a local coffee shop or similar.

How long ago was your baby born? Congratulations by the way :) It's such a shame that we are hit with PP at what should be one of the happiest family times but it is a temporary illness and very treatable. Do you have a care team visiting you at home?

I wonder if you have seen the APP Recovery Guides, "Recovery after Postpartum Psychosis" and "Postpartum Psychosis : A Guide for Partners"? The link is app-network.org/what-is-pp/....

I had PP many years ago and fully recovered eventually with good medical care. There will be other mums here to share experiences which are probably more up to date than mine.

Take care and please write here if it helps. We are all here to lean on.

Hello Lilybeth,

Thank you for your response, yes I had a great deal of support and was in a mother and baby unit for 2 months. I have less support now but there are plans to increase the amount of support I'm getting soon.

I'm glad I found APP it was recommended by my doctor in fact.

Hello Mamadollface

I'm very glad you found APP too. It's great that your doctor is so aware. I was under general psychiatric care many years ago and in various units for six months.

I'm sure you're very pleased to be home but it's early days in your recovery so please try to rest as much as you can. I hope the increased support will be helpful as coping with routine and recovering from PP isn't easy.

There's also a brilliant blog, ppsoup.com which might be helpful to read with shared experiences.

Take good care of yourself ...... PP mums are amazing :)
