I had depersonalization after my 1st baby and I can't even describe in words how horrible it was. I finally saw dr. 9 mos later and got talk therapy and anti depressants and it slowly got better.

Hello Zoe

Welcome to the forum. I'm really sorry to hear that you are suffering with very bad post natal depression. All the mums here have had Postpartum Psychosis (PP) following childbirth so I'm not sure if a support group specialising in post natal depression will be able to offer more support?

However, following my second PP I did suffer with depression for almost a year so I do really understand how crippling it can be. It sounds as though your GP is trying to see if an increase in medication will help. I can only say that it does take time, probably not as long as mine took, as it was a long time ago.

I'm sure there will be other mums here to signpost you to a forum for postnatal depression.

Take good care.

Hi Zoe,

I'm so sorry you're struggling with really bad postnatal depression, it is awful. I had depression after the psychosis and it was probably the worst part of the illness, every day a struggle and a battle. You will get there though.

Like Lilybeth says this forum is for women who have had postpartum psychosis, which though there are some similarities with PND it is very different. There are a lot of other organisations / forums that may be more helpful for you which are more specifically for women suffering from PND.

One is PNI pniorguk.proboards.com/

The other is PANDAS pandasfoundation.org.uk/onl...

Which also have local face to face groups which may be helpful. You can search for a local group.

I'm not sure if you are in the UK?

I hope that's helpful.

Take care, and you will get better and recover,

Ellie
