Yes, yes, yes. It will get better, and you will get through this. Make sure you have a good support system and don't be afraid to ask for help. Be open and honest about how you are feeling both to your doctors and your support system. I wrote my thoughts in a journal that I still have today. My faith was also a huge factor that got me through. Also medication is very important at this time. Please take your meds it will help in the long run. You've come to the right place we are here for you and we are going to get you through this.

Hello Samantha1

What treatment are you having? Are you in a Mother and Baby Unit? It's very early days for you but with good care and medical support you will eventually recover.

Please try not to worry, we are all here to lean on.

Hi Samanthal. Yes it does get better. You will get through this and you will be yourself again.

I hope you have good support. Hopefully you'll start to notice an improvement in how you're feeling soon, but it takes time so hang in there.

I thought it would never get better and that the staff at the MBU were lying but it really did get better. It took me a while but I now really enjoy my son and wouldn't be without him, it just keeps getting better.

The first few weeks and months are very dark...atleast they were for me but it wil improve. I wanted to get better immimmediately because of how horrible I felt. I thought my situation would never improve. I found a really good counselor and really relied on family during this time. A good support system is so important. Everyones path to recovery is different. But the main thing to remember during this time is you will get better. And also remember you are never alone!

Hi Samantha

Welcome to the forum.

Just to reiterate what everyone above has said. Absolutely you will get better. I won't lie that for me it was an up and down road but slowly and surely I got better. I would also add to what everyone said - be open and honest with your support (professionals and family and friends), take the advice / meds etc of the professionals, take all the support you are offered (counselling etc).., I hope that you are getting good support, I hope you are able to stay with your baby.

I am 3 1/2 years later and I am happier than ever, with an amazing relationship with my son. It has not affected our relationship at all.

Take care and please don't hesitate to post on here to get advice, ask questions, write how you're feeling. We are all here for you.

As the others have said it does get better. I've been through pp twice since June 2011 & am so pleased with how I've recovered & my 2 little boys have made the he'll that is pp all worth it xx be patient with yourself as it can take time, everyone's different so just take it at your own pace & do what's best for you & you're family.

Sending hugs your way xxx

It will get better Samantha. I of all people know how easy it is to hear those words but to actually feel it is another ball game altogether. I never thought id get there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not out the woods and still have a way to go but I am beginning to see that it will happen. If that makes sense. I've been suffering since last may x
