Has anyone else's pre-eclampsia been linked to asthma or asthma medication (steroid tablets/inhalers)?

I had severe pre-eclampsia with my first baby and have been told subsequently that it was probably caused by a combination of my crazy immune system reacting to the baby and the steroids I was taking for my type 2 brittle asthma (allergy induced). Has anyone else heard of this?!

Hello,

I have had asthma since I was a baby, and I had severe pre-eclampsia with my first child. Funnily enough whilst I was pregnant I had to use my inhaler alot, where usually I hardly ever used to use it before this and would only really use it during hayfever season or Winter.

I had never heard about this, but now you've mentioned it it's got me intrigued.

I wasn’t using my inhaler a lot during my pregnancy. But I am wondering if the cortisone based inhalers are linked with pre eclampsia in any way. I was diagnosed with severe PE with my first child at 28 weeks.
