Feeling a panic attack

Please help me calm - I haven't been on here for a while as have been doing really well but this week I pulled my neck and found a lump on my neck. The doctor said it was a swollen gland but I keep freaking out and I suffer major health anxiety. It's making me panic,which has affected my appetite. Just want to be normal.

hi sallymb, i know how health anxiety will drive you nuts, ive recently got some results back and felt so releived. if he says its a swollen gland then its a swollen gland, if you are that worried go to a and e if you really need to instant results. if you are finding it hard to eat then try complan to keep your strength up and please go on to youtube and type in hypnotherapy anxiety and try david fairweather or fairwaters hynpotherapy out, sorry cant remember the right name. x

Hi SallyMB I know exactly what you are going through as I often feel pain around the glands in my neck and of course when you suffer from health anxiety as I do too your mind starts racing, thinking cancer and all sorts!! Just keep an eye on it and go back to the doctor's if you are experiencing the pain for longer periods! I know a couple of days can feel like a lifetime when you are anxious but just see if your symptoms go away As i say I know what you are going through as every ache and pain feels magnified with health anxiety! Thank you for you for your responses. Health anxiety is absolutely awful (well all anxiety is) I feel like every time I'm ill I've got something serious. It affects my relationship and just overall life I can't just enjoy it. Every ache or pain I panic and google it. I'm trying hard to stop Internet searching now. Two days so far! I do plan on not doing it ever again though searching my symptoms terrified me. Xx
