Hi all I have been on Sertraline 50mg for 5 weeks,75mg for 7 weeks & I dont feel any real improvement ,if anything a bit worse. My doc gave me Amtiryptaline 10mg at night to help me sleep,& these do work. But I still wake up in the mornings with this ROTTEN FEAR which can last all day,but goes off before bedtime.Anybody else have this continued fear? Has Sertraline helped any of you? Any replies would be most welcome
Good health to all

I've been on Sertraline for 8 weeks, 4 weeks at 50mg and 2 weeks on 75 now 2 weeks on 100mg. Seen GP on Thursday and he said 100mg is best for anxiety so it will take about 3 weeks to kick in. I still get anxious. When meds peak about 4 hours after taking them, I get what I call the heebie geebies, a horrible crawling feeling up my back and over my head. The fear seems magnified but I've been reassured this will subside.
I hope this helps, your not alone lol xxx keep smiling x
If I were you I would ask your doctor if you could get a reference to CBT or hypnotherapy as medicine helps in the short term but to get things permenantly fixed you need to adress the root of the problem.
It might take time but things get better, just hold on
