Have you had any recent blood tests for things like thyroid function, anaemia, etc? Some physical conditions can cause terrible lethargy.

Also, even if you don't feel particularly depressed or anxious, the fatigue and "can't be bothered" feeling is common with depression, so maybe it is still there without the usual signs? It's also the time of year when people who suffer from SAD are affected by the lack of daylight. I don't know if that applies to you, but lightboxes can be useful if that's the culprit.

You say you don't want meds, but have you ever tried St John's Wort? It can help with mild depression and as long as you do enough research, don't take it alongside any prescription antidepressants and take advice on it's safe usage, it's definitely worth a try.

Hello titch,

dont want to tell you what to do, but I agree with FC, maybe you should first get checked out by the quacks, just to rule things out. Anxiety itself will make you extremly tired, it takes a great deal of energy to be anxious, also, depression will give you that 'all or nothing feeling' just one little thing that doesnt go right may make you think everything isn't worth it.

Try to give yourself a break from feeling low, make a point to do something you might enjoy, try to distract you mind from the 'cant be bothered feeling'

i hope things get better for you soon titch TTFN VV

Hi guys thank you all for your response i take it all on board and will do everything you have said, i should have mentioned i have young 2 children so a dog is probably going to make me more tired lol i have been aneamic a few times in the past so a blood test is probably a good idea. I have been on citalopram in the past for about a year but felt it wasnt really helping me. It kind of feels like i have that much to do and no time to do it in my husband works 5 nights a week so everything kind of falls on me to keep on top of the house, school runs, and generally being a mum lol that is when i get the cant be bothered feeling . Thank you again guys i really appreciate it xx

i do understand what you mean about a dog, i was so depressed i couldnt leave the house but after a lot of effort i started walking the { new } dog and now 14 months later im walking 6 miles a day with him and i love every walk, it might sound mad but my springer is the best medication you could get, iv got myself off medication and i love life to the full, so if you cant have a dog try walking as much as you can, it is great
