Does anyone suffer from GAD and or OCD.

Hi I have GAD and OCD has anyone found anyway to ease some of the symptoms especially associated with OCD

I suffer from gad and ocd. Everytime I take my tablet I count them ova and ova for about half hour afterwards. I didn't even realise there was a name for it till I saw it on the net. I found that I can ease it now and again, if I take my tablet count them once and either go for a work to the shop, pop to a friends, or go and relax in the bath. Then I count them once I get back only once. I thought it was just me being me, untill I red about ocd. Xxx

Hi. sam. Don't we just!! I think most of us have been there and OCD is far from uncommon, in fact it would be true to say that it can be a major part of any anxiety problem. If, when I was ill, I could not find my tablets I used to panic. I had become obsessed with the idea that unless I had them I would go mad! (Mind you, there was some doubt in some quarters that I already was!!). You will recover from this nasty complaint but it takes time and perseverance, which it is sometimes very hard to find. Keep blogging. You are in the right place. So, count the tablets. Do it fifty times a day if you must. It will not kill you! But do not be so upset by your problem which, as I say, is far from uncommon. Best wishes. jonathan.

Me too Sam ! guilty as charged! You will find all kinds of everything on this site and welcome. I have to take my handbag everywhere I go ( with my medication in it) even to the bathroom! in my own home! with both doors locked LOL!. If I have any visitors it's so embarrassing....as if I think they are going to rummage in it while I am gone! I do make a joke of it though and the folk that know me well are never offended ! just as well really xxxxxx
