Does anyone know of a better pill to take for anxiety?
Unfortunately there isn't a one size fits all when it comes to medication. If you are struggling with your meds speak to your GP and see if they are able to offer an alternative. You can also ask them about other treatments, such as talking therapies. Unfortunately there can be a waiting list for these, but it is worth asking.
You could also look to see if there are any local charities that are running support groups in your local area, or any national charities that have a helpline you can speak to when you are feeling anxious.
Try Anxiety UK's website, as I know they offer lower cost talking therapies, on a means tested basis. They also offer telephone counselling if there are no therapists in your local area.
You didn't mention how long you have been taking your meds. Some meds take time to take effect as well, as their effects are not immediate.
Good luck.
Icant take sertraline either, this is an ssri drug, and unfotunately it can increase your anxiety,I had to stop taking it because of this,my dr put me on zispin, this dosen't increase my anxiety, and gives me a great nights sleep, side effects will be sleepiness and lightheadedness for the first few weeks. but a lot easier to tolerate than sertraline, hope this helps.....
i wont take tablets for my anxiety i feel all they do is mask your troubles counsiling and cbt is the way forward helps u understand they anxiety and how the break the cycle.

Hello I agree with you on this but it's my choice not to take meds not docs I've tried them all none suited and if I'm honest none worked for me as you say I had cbt and councilling it makes you think about your anxieties and what triggers them and I'm reading about it that helps a bit more good luck to you all dealing with your anxieties Mel
