still not sleeping properly the doctor just keeps giving me sleeping pills but the sleeping pills just make my anxiety worse i had 2 weeks without any tablets i said i didnt wont to keep taking tablets is there somewhere i can go to talk to someone

Hi there,

You could check and see if there are any local support groups, or charities in your area. In Sotland there is Breathing Space and they have a helpline. Anxiety UK offer different types of therapy including phone therapy and 1 to 1 counselling.

Alternatively, pop on here. There are usually a few people around.

Just realised I deleted a paragraph on my comment...not sure how I managed that.

You could also ask to speak to a different GP at your surgery. Some GPs are better than others when it comes to dealing with mental health issues.

What i noticed today is that on my doctors website you can see their qualifications. It's worth seeing if you can do the same for your docs and you may find that one of them specialises in matters more related to the mind.
