Gasman, when I was suffering with depression and anxiety I had feelings that I could see and hear what was happening around me but I felt like I was looking in on everything like a fly on a wall. I'm not sure if this is what you mean but I had medication for it and it worked for me.

I get this sometimes too. I might be wrong but think they call it depersonalisation. I went through a spell when my productivity at work was like zero because of it. I found that I had a little bit of social anxiety due to low self esteem and I would shut down when in situations where I felt uncomfortable. A way of protecting myself I guess. Through talking to a counsellor and self esteem reading I gradually did it less. I find now if it does happen it helps me to think about something physical, like my finger tips rubbing together or my feet/my soles on the carpet something physical and a feeling that brings you back to the present. I think for me it was important to try to keep going about my normal daily routine as I find I'm more likely to be 'inside myself' as I call it when I'm on my own. Hope this helps in some way. Fifi.

Yes I get this and it terrifies me. It's a normal part of anxiety though. I've read that it comes from thinking too much, dwelling on your problems etc, so try to distract yourself :)

It's funny you should say that because i have been like this all day.

Not nice when you have no idea where you really are, quite frightening to say the least.

This whole anxiety is a terrible nightmare and one day someone, somewhere will find a cure im sure of it.

Its all chemical balanced so they have or is that just wishful thinking.

Good luck and i do hope all these horrible feelings and thoughts sudside for everyone. x
