now I’m familiar with chest pain and when I do get it I am scared but this morning it was really sore then an hour later i feel asleep for 3 hours I’ve just woke up and feel so incredibly anxious and worrying about that chest pain as it was extremely painful. I still have it just now even when resting it just fills me with so much fear like I don’t want to be having a heart attack I’m at a caravan park with my family just now and I’m in bed feeling like this!!

Hi caitsxxx1, how are you feeling now.? Still in bed or did you get up and move

around a bit. At 29y.o. and having a 2y.o. baby and a new house, that's already

a lot of stress. Not sure what a caravan park is but it sounds like you slept in another

bed last night. That plus the excitement in being away might have very well caused

your chest pain. Tight muscles are very painful. You are with family and not alone.

I'm not a doctor and only a doctor could tell you what's going on but that is my

perspective of stress and anxiety on a young woman. If you are not better, tell your

family and let them get you some help. My best :) xx

I’m no medical expert, but I get chest pains at all different times as well, including while asleep. I’ve had checkups on numerous occasions and thankfully everything was fine. I totally can understand and relate to how you feel as I feel the same when it happens and it’s frankly terrifying! Unfortunately uncontrolled anxiety and worry can also negatively affect your mood short and long term, as well as impacting your ability to do and enjoy things in your life. I honestly wish I could offer you some words of comfort or wave a magic wand! My personal advice would be to speak to your Dr and go from there. As amazing as our bodies are, they can equally worry the living daylights out of us. I wish you all the best.

I can relate to this so much. About 3 weeks ago I started to notice this dull pain in the left side of my chest. I didn’t think too much of it at the time because I work out a lot and thought it was just a sore muscle. But I guess my subconscious brain thought differently because a week into feeling that chest pain I woke up in the middle of the night and had a full blown panic attack. I have GAD and have had panic attacks in the past but haven’t had one for over 6 years since this latest episode. I went to my pcp and he gave me a clean bill of health but I still had the pain so I asked if he could do a CT scan of my chest. The test didn’t show anything of concern but I still have the pain. It comes and goes but my brain is still in that fight or flight mode, going on two weeks now. I had to increase my SSRI, and since my anxiety is causing insomnia, I am taking another med for sleep, and I still get very interrupted sleep, even on the med. And it all stems back to that chest pain, thinking I was going to have a heart attack at any moment. But what you also need to think about is, stress and anxiety can also cause chest pain, so it’s a little bit of the chicken and the egg situation. Anyway, I feel your fear and I understand that fear is a struggle but you gotta fight through it. I still am struggling but am hopeful that I’ll come out on the other side a stronger person.
