Hi Jacko3 - I don't live in York, but know the area quite well. My daughter lives in Little Fenton, Sherburn in Elnet, and my granddaughter lives in Selby, and get up there often. Is there any specific reason you ask? How are you? Is there anything any of us on here can help share with you?

Hi Jacko3, As I don't live close by I'm not very clued up on what is on offer in your area, however as I said my daughter and granddaughter do live close by, I will ask if they have any information you could follow up on - and let you know via this channel. I hope that will be acceptable with you. It sounds like you need some company - have you checked out any of the clubs being run locally? I work for SPACE here in Aylesbury, they are affiliated with MIND, I will enquire if there is any branches up your end, and let you know.

Hi Jacko3 - In answer to your question, I don't live in York, but both my second daughter does, in a little hamlet 'Sherburn in Elmet' and her daughter lives in Selby. My husband and I spent Christmas there. Lovely part of the country, you are blessed to be there.

I responded to one of your posts several months ago, and offered to find out if there are any 'places of support' nearby. I did enquire and there are quite a few - I'm not sure how easy they are to get to - as travel can be difficult.

Wishing you a happy and blessed 2023, and good health, mental, physical, and spiritual.

I have just re-read your post, where you stated you were looking for a friend - someone living with anxiety, so you can meet up and encourage one another. This is a great thing to do, however may I say. 'Take care with this, as well meaning as it is there is always the possibility you will transfer your own cares on to each other and end up with a double dose of anxiety.'

Do be careful of your boundaries, seeing someone personally and off-loading is much different to being anonymous on a forum such as this. Every blessing. xx
