Fellow Christians with Anxiety? Does this sound like the Holy Spirit?

I have intrusive thoughts, alot of them revolve around me losing things I love, such as my career and my life. I suddenly out of nowhere had this voice that said "Get right with God, your time is near". Does this sound like Anxiety or the Holy Spirit? Im scared, im young and dont want to die yet.

This post may help you understand what is happening with the intrusive voices.healthunlocked.com/couchtob...

I'm not a Christian but I think it is a good idea to be at peace with your spiritual beliefs.

'your time is near' could mean anything - not necessarily that you are going to die. It could mean that you are going to achieve great things or go through trials and your faith will give you strength. That's not to say that you don't also need medical support with mental health issues - you probably need both

All you need to do is ask God through His son Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins. Then BELIEVE that He has done that. Keep praying on a daily basis. If you keep in daily contact with our Heavenly Father then Satan cannot have a hold on you. You are a child of God. Anxiety can cause us many problems but just put your trust in God.🙏

Hi FUOCD, My name is Mary, and I would like to respond to your post this morning in several ways: A) most importantly as an Active Christian Lay Minister with some 40 years experience in ministry (I am now 74.) B) In a positive and constructive way C) in a way that will ease your fears and help you to understand more of the love our heavenly Father - through the love of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit, has for us, His people!

'Intrusive thoughts', I've had them too, many times over, been there, done that, and worn out the T shirts! When 'we' make our commitment to follow Christ, we automatically put ourselves at risk and we will come under what is termed 'spiritual attack.' There are many spirits around, some are of God, others of the evil one 'Satan.' The evils spirits are just that - evil - they will bombard you with suggestions, thoughts, words and deeds. Basically they are jealous that you have been chosen by Christ -- over their god. You might ask, 'How will I know the difference?' This is where the power of prayer comes in, when becoming a Christian, we make a covenant/agreement with GOD, and we become born again, and in a new relationship with Him. The more we pray, the closer we will come to the LORD, but we must also 'listen for His voice' over time we will recognize His voice, it will become second nature to us. Always take time when you pray to listen for GOD's answer - He won't always give you what you ask for, but He WILL always give you what you NEED! Get to know HIS VOICE in your mind.

If we are not able to discern the LORD's voice, it is always good to go to our TOOL FOR CHRISTIANITY - that is our Bible. The answer to everything we need to know is in there.

If you are not sure whereabouts to look in your Bible? I'm not a huge fan of modern technology, but a sure fired way is to GOOGLE your questions. EG. in your first instance you might put in the subject line, 'What does Jesus say in the Bible about intrusive, suggestions?' You will get several Bible references to look at, and decide for yourself which one you want to follow.

Things that revolve around you - 'losing things you love', - Career and your Life ( I assume you also mean people close to you - losing those close to us is inevitable, it is the circle of life, and we cannot do anything about it, but grieve for our loss, and remember in our hearts the person we knew and the times we shared. Keep memories alive.) You may indeed lose things you love, we all do that at times, if you do lose something that is precious to you. It may be that the evil spirits have hidden something from you. Don't despair, Pray and ask the LORD where it is? If you get it back - fine, remember to thank God. If you don't make a mental note to be more careful of your property. The Bible says quite a lot about possessions, money, and assets. Losing a Career, yes this can be disastrous, but this may be God saying, 'This is not the right one for you!' When I was 18, I was set to become a Nurse, I had dreamed all of my young life wanting to be nurse. I had been accepted in Nursing school, and was due to begin the following week, in those days in the UK - a trainee nurse HAD to LIVE IN - although I lived a five minute walk away, I had to obey the rule. Five days before I was due to move in, my dad phoned me at my work and told me I could not leave home, as he had just been taken into hospital, and I was not to leave my mum at home alone. (The age of becoming an adult in those days was 21) I was distraught, even now I feel a great sadness. The following year I met and married my husband, we have 3 children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren - to date. My eldest granddaughter is a fantastic nurse, and a much better nurse than ever I would have made - she excelled during COVID! Then when I was 40, I was appointed a Lay Hospital Chaplain, GOD had seen the bigger picture and saw that I was not nursing material, but with chaplaincy I excelled, and grew in my faith. God didn't give me what I wanted but He sure did meet me in my need! He will meet you in your needs too.

'Get right with GOD, your time is near' -- Yes this may mean Your life is nearing its end, more likely it means: 'My precious child I have something wonderful in store for you. Let's get this right together!' Meaning He wants you to excel maybe in a specialised ministry, but you may need to go through the 'refiners fire', (see 1 Peter 1:7; Isaiah 48: 10; Malachi 3:3.)

With regard to the losing of our lives, it is perhaps one of the most precious gifts we have, that none of us know the time, the date or the manner in which we will be taken - Only GOD know that, other's may guess, but only the LORD 'knows.' The other most wonderful thought is that, 'We cannot lose.'

What we all must do, is learn how to stand in the victory of Christ, the victory He won when he was nailed to His rood. Christ won the victory over death and sin. Satan is destroyed but he cannot admit it yet. We must not let Christ's sacrifice be in vane.

I think that what is happening to you is anxiety, I think it is fuelled by fear, and it is a fear that you can overcome with your faith. When you feel these anxiety episodes coming on, don't wait, sink back into the arms of Jesus and talk to Him, pray for peace. More than anything, 'Do not be afraid, when anxiety calls,' your body has its own way of kicking in, GOD will not allow more than you can take. This kind of stress happens to many millions of people throughout the world every single day. Find a way of meditating, imagine yourself in a quiet place, maybe a beach or a garden, breathe in the fresh air and the scent of the sea or flowers, live each day as it comes, we have worries enough each day, don't store them up in advance.

Remember Jesus loves, Jesus saves!

As a Christian, I believe God talks to us in a still and small voice. God woes us and doesn't demand things from us. If you are a Christian then you have nothing to be concerned about. God will call you home when He desires for you to come home. Please try not to dwell on that because you have no control over that. I know it is part of your anxiety. Another thing, Satan is the Master of Confusion. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and confessed your sins, but are having doubts about your salvation, then that is coming from Satan and not God and you to tell Satan to take a hike. You don't say where you are 9n your faith journey. but please remember God loves you immensely and is not going to add to your anxiety.

I think it might be wise to seek a medical opinion on hearing voices especially as you are suffering from intrusive thoughts. After all it could be a symptom of a Mental health problem “you may hear voices as a symptom of some mental health problems, including psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder or severe depression.”
