Starting Lexapro - best time to take

Just starting Lexapro and am nervous about side effects. Don’t want additional anxiety. What is the best time of day to take it? Thanks!

Hi smith124 I have been on Lexapro for a while now. Was startedon it in the hospital and given it with my lunch every day.

I kept that schedule and seem to do fine. Was told lunch helps

metabolize the medication better. Wishing you well xx

Hi recently started Lexapro myself about a month ago. I take it at night time per my Dr recommendations. I haven’t had any side effects but as we all know everyone is different. Hopefully it works well for you

I take mine in the morning. Been on it since August. I haven't had any side effects but I also felt like it's not working as much as when I first got on it. My doc just upped my dose but wants me to wait since I just filled my previous script and I'm getting over the flu and an ear infection and on antibiotics and steroids for those.

Thank you. Yes I would definitely wait to increase it until you get steroids out of your system. Steroids will increase anxiety.
