Gone from 20mg to 40mg fluoxetine, been on increased dose for 2.5 weeks terrible morning anxiety, is this normal?will it ever settle?

I have terrible morning anxiety also and it just ruined my whole day I am on Lexapro I’m still waiting for it to kick in problem is I started it lol dolls 2 1/2 mg and now I’m on 10 and they say it’s still gonna take two more weeks because the 2 1/2 was doing absolutely nothing but I hear what you’re saying about the morning anxiety Seems like as soon as I wake up I start with the symptoms of shaking lightheadedness

Your not alone. I've been on 40mg for 3 weeks now and still feeling it. Mainly on a morning as soon as a wake but also episodes of it through out the door my drs asked me to just ride it through for another few weeks as 21 days on increased dose is still early days. I've been giving diazepam to help me until everything settles down but it's so exhausting and frightening

My Husband and I both have GAD, and both tried Fluoxetine but it was just too stimulating for us. It's the most stimulating of all the SSRI's and although it's licenced for panic disorder, it isn't for GAD. If the increased anxiety gets worse, please let your prescriber know immediately. If it stays the same and doesn't settle down after 2 to 4 weeks, again definitely let your prescriber know.
