Head pressure

Hi guys me again ☹️

Really struggling tonight with the pressure/pain in my head. Been seen at out of hours maybe a month ago and they told me it was stress.. it went away for a little bit but now it’s back again. Was at the hospital 3 days ago and again they told me it’s due to bad posture and stress/anxiety. Although the past 2 days I have felt more relaxed and tried to ignore this pressure I know it’s still there. Tonight I’m struggling really bad and I’m unsure what to do now 😭 it seems everywhere I go they keep telling me it’s stress and anxiety. When will this stop. I’ve been seen by FIVE health professionals in the past month and they have all told me it’s stress related and anxiety based. I can’t help but feel like it’s something sinister and i feel like I’m drowning. Spend every morning trying to get an app to see a doctor ☹️ WHY am I feeling these symptoms even when I don’t feel as stressed! I’m exhausted and just want to live a normal life 😭

I hope you find some help. Hang in there.

Thank you

You're welcome.

I was going through the same thing two months ago. I started getting it spreading to my left muscle that goes down the neck and over my shoulder. It is all tension. My anxiety as Agora1 says was making my shoulders go to my ears. I started getting up in the morning and doing neck stretches. It helps relieve the tension and pressure in my head and neck. When you're anxious you tense the cord that runs down the sides of the neck from your opcipital (sp) bone to your shoulder trap and you really need to work the tension out of the deep muscle. There is a network of nerves there that dislike anxious tension and stay stiff long after the stress fades. Try this it was my starting point one morning and I catch myself doing it automatic when I feel I need a release.

This is the newer one. A challenge she started five days ago but it is the same as the other one she made just a few extra stretches.

Hey beauty, omg this is me! I have head pressure, lightheadedness and so many other sensations every day, sometimes all day. My pressure was so bad it felt like my head was in a vice. Went to hospital, Doctors, cardiologists, and told it’s all anxiety. I started to believe it really was and the pressure feeling is so much better! I still get lightheaded(because that’s my new symptom to focus on) but the pressure feeling is so much better! Here if you ever need to chat x

Honestly I totally understand. I thought I was having a stroke everyday. Anxiety is the absolute devil and until you have experienced it, it’s impossible to understand. Honestly if ever you want to chat just message 🌸

Thank you for taking time to respond it really does help! Message me whenever you need too! I check this regularly 💙💙 xx

I'm sorry you're still feeling anxious. Do you do deep breathing exercises, muscle tension and relaxation, and visualization? I find these to be helpful.

sounds exactly what i went thru a couple of months back. got to the point that i had headaches pretty much all day long so went to see a neurologist and she told me it a common problem (pressure on one or both sides of the head). how's your sleep and anxiety levels? she put me on meds (Elavil) which i already stopped taking (dont want to rely on them) but they did help.

Hey! My pressure is at the back of my head at the bottom and only sometimes goes into my neck and shoulder it’s mainly focused on the left side! I do suffer with bad health anxiety but the past few days I’ve tried to be more calm.. still getting the pressure though :(

anxiety can cause lots of issues, and can make your life miserable. and if paranoid (like me:))) it will case more anxiety...its like a freaking circle! try meditation, yoga, socialization can take your mind of the pain and will go away (i know its hard to get out of the house while in pain)! do neck stretches. try everything you can think of. something will help! also, look into L-theanine and ashwagandha supplements

Do you have MS? I do, and the head issues are my primary problem. Head pressure and cognitive issues at the same time can be due to MS. Sometimes it feels as if I have a band tied around my head, above my ears, and someone is trying to tighten it. When it is really bad and lasts for more than 2 weeks, I go to my neurologist, or call him, and he prescribes a run of prednisone. I hate taking it, but that is the only thing that makes it go away for me. It is my typical "flare" with MS. It is not anxiety, and has nothing to do with it.

I have not been diagnosed with MS not even thought about it tbh....

Surely if it was something like that the hospital would have mentioned it when I was there??? I’ve never thought about MS before... another thing to worry about ☹️

I have had chronic insomnia for many years, and had been through sleep studies 2 times. Only my third Neurologist came up with the diagnosis of MS. I have had these weird head symptoms for over 40 years (I'm 78), and was diagnosed about 6 years ago. A spinal tap and MRI's confirmed what my Neuro suspected as MS. A lot of the time I had thought I had an inner ear problem, since there is a "spacy" weird, somewhat dizzy feeling with it, but meclizine doesn't usually help my situation. Sometimes I think it might, but not necessarily so. I sometimes have weakness in my legs, and heat issues in that I get weak when I get too hot, not much endurance with exercise, etc. You need to see a Neurologist, not a therapist. Good luck to you.

Hello I’m a chronic migrainer and although you do need a good doctor to listen to you it sounds a lot like some of my migraines. There is a definite correlation between barometric pressure and precipitation and our migraines. I have an app that helps me track both and it is such a real thing. Try finding a neurologist with headache speciality training to go see. I get sinus infections ear infections teeth pain all related to this pressure. That being said no one should not take a patient seriously when presenting with a new onset of pressure in the back of your head. Especially relying on bloodwork. Go somewhere else. And somewhere else after that if you have too. Do not trust they will know what to help you with you must be your own best advocate. Go see a counselor if you need to but never let someone bully you into thinking it’s all in your head. They did that to me for years and now I’m really sick. No ones questioning me now they are questioning the doctors that saw me. Your could be sinus/ migraine related and easily helped with a medication like Topirimate or some other medication to help you. Good luck hang in there.

Hi! Sounds like me tbh. I’ve had headaches or some sort of migraine or head pressure for months now. I’ve finally got my GP to refer me to a headache specialist in the neurology department (this took a while and I had to turn down some medication to be taken seriously) but not sure when the appointment will be. I also have heart palpitations as well and all my ECG’s have shown everything is normal. I did CBT for health anxiety some months ago but I didn’t complete it as I don’t think the process/counsellor was working for me. After I finally get an appointment with the specialist and hopefully if everything is normal, I’ll ask my GP about the sort of counselling he can refer me to. What has helped me sometimes is getting enough sleep where I can, self-massage on my head, avoiding alcohol, listening to migraine relief playlists on Spotify. I hope it gets better as I know how horrible it can be. Drop me a message if you ever want to chat ❤️

Back at the hospital now waiting to be seen. This is to much 😭

They have turned me away and said there is nothing they can do and I have to see my gp 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Last year I went thru this same episode of headaches everyday. At first I thot it was the mask since I had yo wear it to work everyday. I figured mask because of the particles possibly going in my nose and I to the sinuses. I've tried Tylenol and what not to stop it. It worked for awhile then came back. Id seen doctors and they tell me Tylenol. No luck at all. Last last fall I used sinus medicine and that slowly helped me lose the headache. Took awhile but finally for a month I was clear of headaches. Then it came back and I tried it again and it worked. And has been pretty good for most part of this year. I see you take propranolol as I do too. What milligrams are you at? I know with me it made me tired and my heart slowed. Just wondering if this may be part of the problem. I can't say it is but the side effects might be there. Hope you get it figured out. It is miserable having the headaches/migraines all the time.

Sounds good

I Know How You Feel Because I Have Almost Everyday But I Wonder What It Mean’s?

I have persistent head pressure starting in back of head and goes all over face temples neck jaw and now tongue oh and nose for a few years. It’s debilitating and you are not alone. I have had MRA and MRI and seen multiple Drs and not relief and so many scary symptoms with this pressure. It’s day and night and doesn’t go way. I do hope you find answers and relief. It’s hard I know and I just want you to know you are not alone.

i’m getting this constantly day in day out every single second of the day if you get answers let me know, im exactly the same as you been back and forth 5 times and they keep blaming anxiety or tablet side effects x

Phoned my GP this morning as everytime I went to the hospital they said it is a GP matter... my gp has prescribed me propranolol and then I’ve to go see her in a MONTH. I explained I’ve had propranolol before and it didn’t agree with me but she was adamant that I take them.. I had to push to get bloods done and even then it’s 2 weeks time away, started to feel sick tonight but not sure if it’s because what I’ve eaten ect. I literally broke down in the hospital last week and they still didn’t test me for a single thing. Just said it’s anxiety.. I feel like I’m in a trap 😭 Xxxx
