Need help with fear

I have emetophobia (fear of vomiting) and it is controlling my life right now causing me to have panic attacks everyday and I feel like I am on the edge of becoming hysterical because of this intense fear that I cannot explain.

I am wondering if some of you who don’t fear vomiting could share with me how bad it is to you when you get sick. Do you still experience fear while it happens or do you feel neutral? I am investigating because I want to find hope. My goal is to conquer this phobia and feel normal about it as I should be. I want to know how others experience sickness and hopefully I could set myself a realistic goal to achieve. I just started a therapy and I am dubious that I’ll ever find a treatment for my phobia.

Honestly for me I do not fear getting sick in the way you mention. For me it is more of an inconvenience and I just don’t care for the logistics of it all lol. I know that when it happens it’s just because my body is trying to keep me safe by getting rid of whatever it deemed unsafe. I also know that it is only a temporary thing.
